How can I contact KiddyKare?

We’re always happy to hear from you! Reach us by phone at 01628 675828 or email Info@KiddyKare.co.uk with any questions or queries. Our team will respond as soon as possible.

What happens when I sign up with KiddyKare?

Once you register with KiddyKare, one of our friendly consultants will guide you through the application process, ensuring it’s quick and straightforward. During your interview and ID check, we’ll provide detailed information about the role and welcome any questions you might have. Forgotten something afterward? Just give us a call – we’re happy to help at any stage.

How do I share my availability?

We’ll send you a weekly availability message via WhatsApp – just reply directly to let us know your schedule. If you’re unavailable for that week, please reply with “Unavailable.” If we don’t hear back, we’ll assume you’re unavailable, which could mean missing out on shifts. So, it’s in your best interest to respond.

What if my availability changes?

If your availability updates before a shift is confirmed, simply send us a message via WhatsApp outlining the changes. Easy as that!

How do I accept or decline a shift?

We understand that not every shift will fit your schedule. If you’re unable to accept a shift, please reply as soon as possible so we can offer the opportunity to another member of the team. Prompt communication helps us keep things flowing for all staff – and ensure nurseries aren’t left short-handed.

Every response helps us match the right people to the right places and allows us to support you and our partner nurseries with confidence.

Can I choose where I work?

Absolutely – you’re welcome to share any nurseries or locations you’d prefer not to be assigned to, or where transport may be difficult. We’ll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

However, it’s worth noting that restricting your options can limit the number of shifts available to you. So, we recommend reserving exclusions for nurseries or areas that genuinely don’t work for you. The more flexible you are, the more opportunities you’ll receive.

What should I bring to each shift?

Please bring a valid form of ID and your DBS certificate to every shift. This ensures the nursery’s safety and security protocols are upheld.

What to expect when you attend a nursery for the first time.

When you arrive at a nursery for the first time, you’ll be asked to show valid ID. This is a standard safety measure to ensure every child and staff member remains in a secure environment.

You’ll then be greeted by a member of the nursery’s management team. They’ll provide a warm welcome, answer any initial questions, and take you on a brief tour of the setting.

Before your day begins, they’ll also give you a short induction to help you understand routines, key contacts, and expectations – so you can settle in comfortably.

What should you do if there are any issues during a shift?

While issues are rare, we always want to ensure there’s a clear process in place – just in case. If something arises during your shift, we encourage you to speak to the nursery’s management before leaving the setting, if you feel comfortable doing so.

Whether you choose to raise the concern directly or prefer to contact us afterwards, please don’t hesitate to call or email KiddyKare. We’re here to support you and will do everything we can to handle the situation in a respectful and helpful way.

What should I wear?

You’re required to wear your KiddyKare T-shirt to each shift unless alternative attire is approved (e.g., during hot weather). This should be paired with plain black trousers and shoes. In colder seasons, you can wear a plain black cardigan, fleece, or jumper. Nurseries spend time outdoors year-round, so always check the forecast and dress appropriately.

What do I need to do to cancel or amend due to an emergency?

Emergencies are unpredictable, and we completely understand. If you need to cancel or change a shift urgently, please follow the same steps as outlined above: call the office on 01628 675828 and, if possible, follow up with an email.

Quick communication helps us keep things running smoothly for everyone involved.

What should I do if I'm running late?

It happens! Just give us a quick ring so we can notify the nursery that you’ll be arriving a bit later than planned. Keeping the lines of communication open ensures they’re ready to welcome you when you arrive.

How do I submit my timesheet?

Timesheets must be emailed to KiddyKare by 12pm on the Monday following your shift. Late submissions won’t be processed and may delay your payment – so please ensure they’re sent in on time.

When should I expect payment?

The KiddyKare payroll works a week in arrears, which means you are paid the week after you provide KiddyKare with your timesheet and our payday is a Tuesday.

How do I receive my payslip?

Once you’ve received your first payment, you’ll automatically be sent an email inviting you to sign up to My E Pay Window. This secure platform allows you to view your payslips and access other important pay and tax documents.

If you don’t receive your sign-up email after your first payment, please reach out to Jodi@KiddyKare.co.uk, and we’ll make sure you get the link you need.

I'm thinking about leaving KiddyKare.

If you’re planning to step away from KiddyKare, we simply ask that you email your resignation to Jodi@KiddyKare.co.uk. From there, we’ll handle the process of generating your P45, timed to your final day with us.

There’s no formal notice period required, but we do kindly ask that you honour any shifts you’ve already committed to.

I'd like to move to a permanent childcare role.

If you’re seeking a more permanent position, please don’t hesitate to contact KiddyKare. We’ll chat through your goals and explore any permanent opportunities currently available. Alternatively, if you’ve completed temporary shifts at a nursery and would love to work there full-time, let us know as we’re happy to reach out to the nursery on your behalf to see if they have any vacancies.

The advantages of flexible working

I’ve been a temporary employee at Kiddykare for over a year. When I’ve had an emergency or been sick, Kiddykare has been really understanding. I appreciate the flexibility of working as a temporary nursery nurse since it allows me to get experience with different nurseries while still spending time with the children. I could not be more satisfied
