Part time hours are available of Monday to Thursday – 9:30-3:30pm.

About the Role:
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will provide safe, stimulating, and inclusive care and education for children in line with the EYFS framework. You will contribute to planning and delivering engaging activities, observing and assessing children’s progress, and supporting their holistic development. Working closely with colleagues and families, you will help create a positive, child-centred environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate EYFS activities that promote learning, development, and school readiness.
* Carry out regular observations and assessments, recording children’s progress and using this information to inform future planning.
* Implement effective safeguarding and child protection procedures, promptly reporting any concerns in line with nursery policies.
* Promote positive behaviour and guidance strategies, supporting children’s social and emotional development.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene, including daily room checks, risk assessments, and cleanliness routines.
* Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on children’s progress and wellbeing.
* Support the inclusion of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting activities and approaches as required.
* Work collaboratively with the nursery team, contributing to a positive, supportive, and professional working environment.

Key Requirements:
* Proven experience working with children in an Early Years setting.
* Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and its practical implementation.
* Demonstrable understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures in an early years context.
* Experience in observing, assessing, and recording children’s learning and development.
* Confident in planning and delivering structured and play-based activities to meet individual needs.
* Effective communication skills for engaging with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* Ability to manage behaviour positively and consistently, using appropriate guidance strategies.
* Strong organisational skills, including accurate record keeping and documentation.
* Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting children with diverse needs, including SEN.

Desirable Skills:
* Experience working in a nursery or preschool environment with mixed age groups.
* Familiarity with digital systems or software for recording observations and assessments.
* Knowledge of local early years services and support networks for families and children.
* Experience contributing to inspections, quality improvement initiatives, or accreditation processes.

Qualifications:
* Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Practitioner (or equivalent in Childcare/Early Years Education) – essential.
* Paediatric First Aid certification – preferred.
* Safeguarding and Child Protection training – preferred.
