Maternity Cover Team Leader

KiddyKare are looking for a Team Leader in an established setting.

The nursery boasts of its fantastic extra curriculum activities such as music and movements programmes, Cook and Grow, Let’s get physical, Magical Maths, Early Language and Stork to Walk.

Role purpose:

The Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day running of the rooms comprising their team and as a member of the Nursery Management Team, supporting the management team in leading the setting to ensure that high quality childcare is provided to all.

Duties:

·Act as a role model for the Early Years, ensuring that the EYFS is implemented and followed throughout the team to an exemplary standard.

·Engage with the Nursery Management Team to understand and comply with registration and legislative requirements, including any requirements outlined by Ofsted.

·To fulfil the role of a key-person to an exemplary standard, providing a positive role model for team members.

·Carry out audits within the team.

·Be involved in the recruitment of staff, including but not limited to, shortlisting, interviewing and observing safer recruitment practices.

·Support the Nursery Management Team with employment relations issues such as probation reviews, flexible working, grievances, attendance management and disciplinary issues

·Assist in the effective use of social media and other marketing activities as required.

Person Specification:

• Full and relevant Early Years qualification

• Full understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS

• Full understanding of the Ofsted inspection framework

• Experience of leading a team and dealing with staff issues

• Comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements

About the Role

What You’ll Do

Act as a role model for best practice in Early Years and ensure EYFS standards are met consistently.
Engage with children, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing.
Support staff recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development.
Manage day-to-day staff matters, including appraisals, supervisions, and attendance.
Assist with nursery budgets, invoicing, and occupancy management.
Promote health, safety, and safeguarding across the nursery.
Support marketing, enrolment, and outreach to prospective parents.

What We’re Looking For

Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
Experience in a supervisory or management role within a nursery.
Strong knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
